The Game of Go: Ancient Strategy for Coders and Entrepreneurs

Presenter: Christian DeWolf

Christian DeWolf is a software developer and author from Halifax. He's currently the Tech Lead at the Atlantic Lottery Innovation Outpost, where he designs systems and games, and codes Ruby on Rails and Javascript. He's been playing Go for 10 years.

During the workshop, you’ll learn

In this interactive workshop, you'll learn how to play Go, the 2,500-year-old game of strategy. You'll see how positions on the board reflect the most fundamental business concepts, learn how recent advances in AI and Machine Learning changed the game forever, and get pointers as you play your first few games. This will be a fun afternoon for any aspiring entrepreneur, computer scientist, or puzzle solver.
